Die eineiigen Zwillinge Hertha und Polly erzählen in der 2 Kanal Installation abwechselnd von ihrer Beziehung, ihrer symbiotischen Nähe trotz des Lebens auf unterschiedlichen Kontinenten, die Unterschiede, Parallelen, schwierige Beziehungen zu ihren Partnern und die Entwicklung ihrer Beziehung über die Jahrzehnte. Am Ende singen beide gleichzeitig das Lied „Die Gedanken sind frei“.
In the 2-channel video installation, identical twins Hertha and Polly talk reciprocally about their symbiotic relationship, despite living on different continents. They speak about their differences, the similarities in their lives, their marriages and the development of their relationship over the years. Both have chosen to sing the famous song “Die Gedanken sind frei”, at the end of the film, a symbol for freedom and independence.
